Communication Equivalence Classes in Networks

چکیده
The quotient structure defined by a specific equivalence relation allows to simplify the study of complex communications between processes in computer networks. The quotient also preserves the initial algebraic structure. This paper describes an algebraic structure modelling the communication in computer networks; it continues the study initiated in [1]. Given two communicating processes, we consider the translations between their communication ports, and introduce an equivalence relation between them in order to express that semantics of the communication between processes does not depend on the permutations of the communication ports. Considering a property P preserved by this abstract semantics of the communication, we first define P -translations, and then provide conditions for permutation-independent communication to preserve the property P . The quotient structure defined by this equivalence relation allows to simplify the study of a complex communication between processes to the study of the equivalence classes representatives. The quotients preserve the initial algebraic structure. A communication structure is given by the following elements: (i) P – the set of processes; p, q, s, . . . range over P; (ii) for every process p ∈ P we associate the set of communication ports H(p), and a permutation group S H(p); c ©2004 by G. A Two-Threshold Guard Channel Scheme for Minimizing Blocking Probability in Communication Networks
In this paper, we consider the call admission problem in cellular network with two classes of voice users. In the first part of paper, we introduce a two-threshold guard channel policy and study its limiting behavior under the stationary traffic. Then we give an algorithm for finding the optimal number of guard channels. In the second part of this paper, we give an algorithm, which minimizes th...
متن کاملThe graph of equivalence classes and Isoclinism of groups
Let $G$ be a non-abelian group and let $Gamma(G)$ be the non-commuting graph of $G$. In this paper we define an equivalence relation $sim$ on the set of $V(Gamma(G))=Gsetminus Z(G)$ by taking $xsim y$ if and only if $N(x)=N(y)$, where $ N(x)={uin G | x textrm{ and } u textrm{ are adjacent in }Gamma(G)}$ is the open neighborhood of $x$ in $Gamma(G)$. We introduce a new graph determined ...
متن کاملEdge-tenacity in Networks
Numerous networks as, for example, road networks, electrical networks and communication networks can be modeled by a graph. Many attempts have been made to determine how well such a network is "connected" or stated differently how much effort is required to break down communication in the system between at least some nodes. Two well-known measures that indicate how "reliable" a graph is are the...
متن کاملToughness of the Networks with Maximum Connectivity
The stability of a communication network composed of processing nodes and communication links is of prime importance to network designers. As the network begins losing links or nodes, eventually there is a loss in its effectiveness. Thus, communication networks must be constructed to be as stable as possible, not only with respect to the initial disruption, but also with respect to the possible...
